New Year - New Parking Rules

No Parking
After the road construction in 2016, it looked like 35th St Dr SE would get painted lane markings that would leave no room for parking in the spots we most commonly use.  As we enter the new year, the signs went up to indicate where parking is no longer allowed.  On the side of the road Planned Parenthood is on, there is no parking anywhere alongside their property.  In fact, there is no parking until you get beyond the first intersection/fire hydrant.  There are still parking spaces on the other side of the road.  But please leave room for at least two vehicles for the house nearest the credit union across the street.  That's a private residence, and it's respectful to leave room for them to park their vehicles.

Some people already park on Elm Ave SE, 34th St Dr SE, or 35th St NE on the other side of 1st Ave.  Other than parking across the street, avoiding the residential spots, these will be the new places we will prefer using in the future.

Planned Parenthood employees had been parking on the street more commonly since October.  The parking ordinances apply to everyone, so they will not be allowed to park there either.

The parking signs are the standard signs and clearly mark where you may not park.  I tweaked the image associated with this post in a way that makes for an interesting image, but please don't mess with any real signs.
